Al-Rasheed Center for Development is an Iraqi civil society organization established under the Non-Governmental Organizations Law No. 12 of 2010, and registered with the number 1C2105012 on May 9, 2021. It initially began its work under the name “Al-Rasheed Center for Strategic Studies” before evolving into its current form, in line with its vision of promoting sustainable development and supporting civil society in Iraq.
At the heart of the Center’s mission is the reinforcement of democratic principles and the promotion of a national dialogue culture. This is achieved through the development of the legislative environment, assessment of electoral processes, and the empowerment of decision-makers and citizens through strategic awareness and education. The Center also engages in research production, provides consultations, implements specialized training programs, and conducts public opinion polls to guide public policies.
The Center contributes to the promotion of coexistence and cultural openness, encouraging the integration of successful human experiences within the local context. It believes in the role of civil society organizations as the “fifth power” in supporting decision-making through dialogue, organizing seminars, and preparing policy papers that offer innovative alternatives for both the public and private sectors.
